You will need a mandatory HMO licence if your property is rented to 5 or more people from 2 or more households, regardless of borough. Hounslow operates a borough-wide additional HMO licensing scheme, covering smaller HMOs (3+ tenants from 2+ households) that fall below the mandatory threshold.
Our service fee is £300+VAT for an Additional HMO Licence and £500+VAT for a Mandatory HMO Licence. On top of that, Hounslow's council charges its own fee separately: the mandatory HMO licence fee is £1,608 standard rate (£1,509 for accredited landlords), plus £25 per household; the additional HMO licence fee is same combined fee schedule as the mandatory licence.
